Vista SP1

Vista SP1?? Well, rumor has it. Microsoft is supposedly going to release Windows Vista Service Pack 1 in early 2008, but is it true? Well, confirmed by the Windows Vista Team Blog, it is! They say in the first quarter...

"We're targeting releasing SP1 to manufacturing in the first quarter of 2008, but as always, we’re first and foremost focused on delivering a high-quality release, so we'll determine the exact release date of SP1 after we have reached that quality bar. (FYI, in case you didn’t already know: the Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 engineering efforts are aligned, so the Server team also said on their blog today that they are targeting the first quarter of 2008 for their release to manufacturing.)"

Well, I don't how much proof that is, but its good enough for me! If your like me, you were all exited about the release of Windows Vista, so you go out and buy a new computer with Vista on it, then you get it home use it for awhile, and think its not to bad. Then the next day you want to install some inti virus software in it, and realize that Mcafee 2006 won't work, meaning you have to go to Wal*Mart and buy a $30.00 copy of Mcafee 2007, which work with Windows Vista to make sure you get the best crashing experience... Now, by rights Microsoft shouldn't have released windows vista yet, and they know it, but the least they could have done was get a usable service pack out within 1/4 of a year. But no, they wanted to wait, as the OS got more and more enemies, and now when the service pack comes out, Microsoft will have had thousands of customers either switch to Linux, or plain old go out and buy a Mac.

Well, lets all hope and prey for a successful release, not to benefit Microsoft, but to benefit us. Thanks for reading!
